Selalu yg jadik killer ni dok sebelah apit kanan. Buleh gak dok kat sebelah apit kiri, jgn kat tempat tekong dah. Positioning determines the strategy la konon, which is not the most important aspect in Takraw as in football. Well, important, but not the most. But reflects is. The tempo of the game is quite fast. So you have to have a great foot-eye coordination.
Humangai.. susah nak jadik killer ni. Ape yg aku list ni the key features yg harus ade pada seorang killer. I might miss something. But here goes:
- Skill and flexibility to execute. Either yer born with it, or it comes with practice and intensive training.
- Agility. This concerns your weight and speed, physically and mentally. Your quickness, lightness, etc.
- Body strength
- Perut nak kena kuat. Kalu boroi sket pun takpe kot. Janji cukup energy
- Kaki pun sama la utk leaping and spike.
- Hand and shoulder for those yg nak execute handstand-gulung kena kuat.
- Power. Kalau pukul lembik.. heheh, org petik sambil kunyah koci je laa..
- Stamina. To withstand fatigue. So takde la sekali libas je dah pancit..
- Balance. How you handle your body after each execution. So takde la jatuh cam nangka busuk!
- Determination. Motivation utk execute maneuver. Tarak rasa was2 nak execute.
- Timing nak kene tepat. Takde la sepak angin aje kang..
- Pastu mase pukul tu nak kena pikir pasal placing bola tu so apponent takleh nak 'petik' or save bola tu..
- Creativity. Nak decide whether nak tap (drop shot) or full power overdrive..
- Sense of positioning. Nak ke perati lak net tu tang mane. Buatnye sangkut kaki kat net tu, tak ke kes naye..
- Will power nak kena kuat, but this goes to other positions as well. Mane taknye.. psycho kuat wooo takraw nih..
- Precision i.e bende yg paling leceh sekali killer ni, nak kene baling bola betul2 kat tekong.. duuuh!
STYLES
Anyways, ade several type of spikes. But the core styles are:
- still-backstroke
- leap-backstroke
- gulung (bicycle-kick)
- handstand-gulung
- half-gulung (more like silat punya front turning-kick)..

Backstroke
Camano lak gayo eh backstroke nih? Nak explain susah gak. Tunjuk dalam gambar pun tak berape clear. Tgk mamat pakai baju merah kat gambar ni. Umm, yg pakai baju putih tu tgh buat 'Blocking'. Takyah la aku explained.

Kena gunekan imaginasi korang la as I explain about backstroke. Bear in mind that this is for right-legged people aaaa.. and leap-backstroke.. if you get this, you'll get the idea about still-backstroke..
· Imagine korang berdiri membelakangkan net. Memang position killer getting ready before spiking.
· Next imagine that bola takraw tu melambung and turun towards your right side..
· Now this is where timing is important. As the ball comes down, angkat kaki kiri (for high flyer kene angkat tinggi2 kaki kiri). At the same time, jump and thrust your body using your right foot..
· While air-borne, spike the ball using your right leg at the ball towards the opponent's court behind you. Remember the ball comes down at your right side.
Still-Backstroke
· As the ball comes down, angkat kaki kiri At the same time, spike the ball using your right leg at the ball towards the opponent's court behind you. Remember the ball comes down at your right side
Gulung
This is even harder. Not all killers have this weapon. Much more dangerous than backstroke. Uses more energy than that of backstroke. But the overdrive! Fuh.. jgn kasik kene muke dah..
Tgk gambar mamat baju oren yg tgh 'Gulung' tuh. Gile tinggi die lompat. Ni player Indonesia ni. Camana aku tau? Tgk kat belakang jersi team mate die la. heheheh!
Ape yg aku bagitau kat bawah ni cara2 nak buat full-gulung. Gune cara yg sama.. imagine!
· Berdiri membelakangkan net.
· Bola akan turun dari belah kiri pulak.
· Angkat kaki kiri, at the same time.. jump and thrust your body using your right foot
· While air-borne, spike the ball using your right leg at the ball towards the opponent court behind you, and make sure you land with your right foot first touches the floor.. (the ball comes down at your left, remember that too..)
Handstand-gulung

· Imagine that bola takraw tu melambung and turun towards your right side..
· As the ball comes down, angkat kaki kiri and leap. Thrust using your right foot.
· When you leap, your body position jadik macam almost 180° upside down.
· Immediately lepas leap tu, place your left hand on the floor and spike the ball.

Half-Gulung
- Takyah lompat. Just angkat kaki kiri sket, pastu spike the ball on your left using you right foot.
