Assalamualaikum..

Huu.. a risky topic that I want to share today. Some of you might like this thing very much and some of you might hate it like hell. And maybe some of you don't even give a damn about it at all.

Me? I enjoyed it. Well, that thing is over actually. But really.. I enjoyed it, as did my wife, my son, and the rest of my family. It's our weekend's family entertainment. No matter how bad it went, we couldn't help but kept on watching. Umm.. I might flip the channels during the commercial or during boring parts. Especially this year they decided to do it earlier when the EPL was still on. They just didn't care. They started being selfish.

Your guess is right, my friend. Akademi Fantasia. And if, by watching Akademi Fantasia, some of you might consider me 'not cool', then 'not cool' I am.

No doubts that the quality was really bad this year, they even started the Diari Akademi Fantasia at the wrong time! Not just that, it was not even an hour as advertised. What a fine start that was..  

And they hyped about the students being the best selected. Huh.. If those were the best among 5000 hopefuls, then I am so worried about our youngsters singing quality, to compare to Indonesians. Well.. you know.. what's with Karaoke launge sekarang makin banyak cam cendawan tumbuh lepaih hujan, and you would think there would be better singers out there.. Perhaps maybe there were still better singers out there but reluctant to join Akademi Fantasia, because of the fact that they will be quarantined for a period of time. Maybe..

Honestly, in term of the performances, and the song selections, this year had been disappointing year for me.. I repeat.. for me. The ONLY performance that I could not take out from my mind is the one with Heliza performing Kesal. And that's the only one. AF4 though, none. AF3, a lot.. including Ekin's Let's Get Loud and Keifli's Berhenti Berharap, and all of Mawi's and so on. AF2 and AF1 as well, banyak gak.. Farah's, Zahid's, Vince's..

AF5, particularly the final.. man, the song selections sucked big time! Cinta Boneka is definitely NOT a finale material. Apsal tak pilih je lagu-lagu yang top? Perhaps those songs that managed to make it to Juara Lagu finales? But nooo.. instead they went with Cinta Boneka? No offence to D-Va, but your song is not a finale material.. Umm.. ok.. I just offended D-Va.. Arghh! Ta'hell with that!

And the arrangements? Disappointing! Especially when they were made by someone who had arranged for the biggest of the biggest concerts. Perhaps the magic has gone? I say Astro should BRING BACK SHAM KAMIKAZE!

Ok.. What I am saying here is.. The concept of Akademi Fantasia is good, perhaps the best reality TV program in Malaysia, the most watched even.. but the one behind it would bring Akademi Fantasia to the ground if they are not careful about the quality.

Astro, I just want two things to be improved for AF6.. SONG SELECTIONS and MUSIC ARRANGEMENTS. That's all I'm asking. Whoever you want to choose, be it orang yang paling malang dalam Malaysia or orang yang paling kaya dalam Malaysia, I don't care.. I just want two things..  

Better SONG SELECTIONS and MUSIC ARRANGEMENTS!!!
